MUSEUMS AND EXHIBITS

The Coastal Georgia Historical Society operates three program and activity centers on St. Simons Island.

Saint Simons Island Lighthouse
The St. Simons Island Lighthouse and Keeper's Dwelling are located on the south end of St. Simons in the Pier Village. Visitors may climb the Lighthouse tower and visit the Keeper's Dwelling, which houses the St. Simons Lighthouse Museum.

A. W. Jones Heritage Center
Located next to the lighthouse, the A. W. Jones Heritage Center houses the Society's archives, research library, exhibits, event hall, museum shop, and administrative offices.

Maritime Center
Opened in 2006 at the Historic Coast Guard Station located on East Beach, The Maritime Center features a true melding of the history of SSI military history and ecology of the islands off the coast of Georgia.
